We are in Iranian Kurdistan, an area where we find the Saugi Bullak, and the Shassavan, the period is between 1915 and 1925. The camel-colored wools are wonderful. The carpet, as per tradition, has both the weft and the warp in wool, the bright pile has remained high in a uniform way. A well-executed restoration more than fifty years ago depresses the cost but certainly not the charm.
