When we say Malayer we expect a very robust carpet with large weft cords usually knotted in the elongated dimension of the runner. The Mishan Malayer knotted before 1920 however, are beautiful carpets that compete in the fineness of the knotted with the Senneh and have always very imaginative archaic designs.
