There's no point in hiding the fact that these types of rugs are a passion of mine. I know them deep down, I've dealt with so many, they're always in demand and when I find one I like I don't have time to offer it to you as I've already sold it. If you check online, searching for Mahageran, or Mahajeran or Mohageran or mahargeran or Saruk Mahageran, you will find the many pieces sold by me. After...leggi tutto Mohtashem's blue, unreachable! That of Saruk Mahageran is the most intense and seductive. In these carpets the light of the pink and orange foliage stands out against the wonderful blue background. Sorry, here I should describe this piece and not quibble about all the Mahagerans. The large, perfectly preserved carpet, knotted on the Ferahan plateau after 1880 but no later than 1910, has a classic layout with large spaces not covered by drawing, which give it a unique lightness and cleanliness.

We define the ancient carpets before the war of 1915/18. They have hand-spun wool dyed with vegetable colors, animals or minerals. In some rare cases have been used, limited to certain colors, the first aniline dyes. Saruk rugs, knotted with vegetable colors until 1930, are included in this group
