Sorry if I assume that you know Mohtashem, the most famous Kashan workshop and the most mysterious mythical master. I thought I would never be able to find rugs of this caliber again. Yes! I have had many in my hands, one more beautiful than the other, I have always sold them well, I have never been disappointed as they have always found admirers and collectors capable of truly appreciating them. ...leggi tuttoWe now come to this piece with an extraordinary state of conservation, very fine and soft, a pleasure to touch as well as to see. The carpet is slightly weak on one headboard as two or three rows of knots are missing. It has an area of approx. 3 slightly low in pile, all the rest of the carpet is perfect. The side trim was rewrapped in wool instead of silk and, fortunately, this is the only intervention, albeit incorrect, that the carpet has undergone. This is easily remedied with the work of Ercan, my restorer, and vintage silk of the original violet colour. The carpet is currently on display in the Crema shop. Come and see it!

We define the ancient carpets before the war of 1915/18. They have hand-spun wool dyed with vegetable colors, animals or minerals. In some rare cases have been used, limited to certain colors, the first aniline dyes. Saruk rugs, knotted with vegetable colors until 1930, are included in this group
