Raver is a village near Kirman where these masterpieces were knotted. The maximum splendor of this manufacture occurred between 1850 and 1880 and it is precisely in these years that this example was knotted. Although the carpet has a restoration in the central part, the state of conservation is to be considered excellent as it is healthy in the structure (wefts and warps well preserved), it has no...leggi tuttot suffered damage from humidity, it is soft to the touch (in jargon we say " does not sing "), the fleece is shaved low at the origin, even if in some points it is slightly lowered further, it never reaches the weft. The restoration we mentioned was masterfully carried out more than fifty years ago and you don't notice it at all. download the image in high resolution, you will not see it.

We define the ancient carpets before the war of 1915/18. They have hand-spun wool dyed with vegetable colors, animals or minerals. In some rare cases have been used, limited to certain colors, the first aniline dyes. Saruk rugs, knotted with vegetable colors until 1930, are included in this group
