| The Kilim slit woven carpet is constructed exclusively using the colored weft threads: when the weaver decides to change colors, he brings the thread to the back, wrapping it around the warp, forming the typical vertical slit. This is why the Kilim carpets almost always have a geometric pattern. The Anatolian Kilim are the most famous, however some interesting pieces may also be Persian, Caucasian, Afghan or Turkmen in origin. |
